Commonwild is a voxel game about a living valley and the family that keeps its fire lit, one generation after another. Founders buy it now, once, and get every update that follows.

A river valley with two villages and a road. Folk have names, trades, needs and memories; they talk about you and vote on laws at the Moot. Seasons and weather, farming, livestock and sheep you can keep and shear, twelve kinds of flower to grow and dye with, mining, crafting and the furnace, carts and pennies. At night the gloam comes to the edge of the light and Reavers raid the stores. Folk now have shoulders, necks, ears and their own skin tones, and each trade fights with its own tools held at true size.
More than 180 placeable materials in colour families, glass, the chisel's eight shapes, carpets, top slabs and upside-down stairs, and fill, clone, mirror, rotate, replace and terraform tools on the undo log. Up close each material shows its grain: mortar, wood grain, weave. Candles and sconces light your buildings at night. Save patterns and share them; .schem and .litematic files import.
The story begins with a jar, a riverbank and a shrine, and act one follows in sixteen scenes, then the first scenes of act two. What you choose is remembered, and the folk remember it too. Hearth tales are told at night, and the Codex of Origins tells where each old story first came from.
Years pass on a calendar. Folk grow up, grow old and die; children are born. Your Wayfarer grows old, names an heir and dies on screen; the heir walks the land they inherit and the Reckoning tells them what was left. An acorn planted in act one takes sixty years to become an oak, and the grandchild cuts its first beam.
Share your world and send the link: a friend opens it over the internet and plays as a guest with only a name. One shared clock, a shared chest, your own purse and a vote each at the Moot. Raids, the gloam and the story's scenes play out for everyone in the world.
A new seed opens a larger land: eight kinds of country from fen to chalk downs, rivers that run from a spring to the sea, caves with ore by depth, and ruins, shrines, Delvings and strongholds. Begin a world with Hearth Age, Hardcore (one life), Manhunt or Speedrun rules. Packs of new blocks, creatures and machines are checked before they load, and the Builder has a panel for making them. Levers, wire, pushers, waterwheels, rails and hopper chutes run on their own tick.
Shared worlds are open over the internet now, but the full test of ten players together for an hour has not run yet; our longest shared runs so far are four players for twenty minutes and a Steward with two guests for fifteen. The story after act one is still to come: act two has its opening scenes, and the rest of it and the acts after it are not in the game yet. The story's own valley keeps the older, smaller land; the larger country is for new seeds. Manhunt and Speedrun have been proven with scripted players, not yet with people. Caves are dark and the new structures are small and plain. Folk are still stylised and pack creatures are simple box shapes. The updates below are how that changes.
Founders get each one when it lands. No dates until a wave is built and measured.
The full hour with ten players in one world, and the rest of shared play: named arms in shared fights, trades and newcomers as shared events.
Caves worth lighting, larger and richer ruins and strongholds, and each kind of country in its own colours.
The rest of act two and the acts after it.
