A furnace, a farm, and a riverside village of four villagers on a working day.

Wave 3 brought a furnace for smelting, cooking, baking and firing brick; farming in four growth stages; and a generated riverside village where four villagers keep a working day. The painterly pass gave natural edges a bevel and trees lobed canopies. The story test ran farm to meal, ore to iron pickaxe, and an exact reload.

Creatures and shelters now read real light values on the main thread. Bevelled 25 cm geometry rounds the exposed natural edges, the ground no longer shows a block grid, and canopies are lobed rather than square. The save now carries the creatures, crops, furnaces and the clock as well as the blocks, so a world comes back alive after a reload. The 60-minute session ran with 0 faults at 239.8 frames a second, with frames at 4.3 ms at the 95th percentile, world memory at a median of 19.66 MB and at most 22.06 MB, 113 saves with none failed and 85 teleports, the full ring at most 1.48 seconds. 318 unit tests passed.
Hillside terraces still read as steps, and the root flares of the big trees read as staircases of logs. Both were carried into the next wave.
This work is in every build since, including the one live on our demo host today (live rebuild 26, 17 October 2026).
Every wave closes with a play test on the build machine in the browser, at a 12-chunk view: frame rate, faults, world memory, and a scripted story test that plays the new loop end to end and reloads the world to check it came back exactly. What did not pass is written down and carried into the next wave.
